About Me

After living through Zimbabwe’s “Lost Decade” and losing my shirt more than a few times to the vagaries of the market, I’ve developed an economic viewpoint somewhat different from what they taught us at University of Cape Town.

Over time I have found that the simplest solution is often the one that yields the most desirable result, however, corporates & the state are adept at making this as difficult as possible. This blog is an attempt to cut through the doublespeak that makes up much of daily business and state media coverage to create an alternative view biased towards local people-driven solutions. With the occasional satirical post to break the monotony.

I travel regularly between South Africa and Zimbabwe occasionally visiting Botswana.

I know the word ‘lovely’ is not quite the right fit but this is just to let you know I have nominated your blog for ‘A lovely blog award’. The post doing so will be on my blog later today.

I think it’s hard to define – to me yours needs a more robust word – ‘great’ perhaps. The point of the nomination is that a spotlight hits your blog and then you’re invited to pass the attention on. Details up now on my blog thephraser.com. Thanks for getting back to me. Let me know if you need any more info.
